RIP GO92.5 FM
So, my favourite music channel undergoes yet another transformation in less than a year; first it went all Hindi! and now, it has made way for BIG 92.7 FM (Reliance's foray into Radio).
Coz 2 radio channels need to have a minimum of 800 Mhz. separating them; and with 91.1 occupied by Radio City, and 93.5 by Red FM, all that was left was 94.3!
So, 94.3 it is, from GO92.5... to Radio One FM92.5 and now Radio One FM94.3, its been a long way! They spent good money on media communication on the name change; and now looks like they'll have to spend some more on this one! The change is kinda good too, in the sense that Radio one will have the same frequency all over India, but then again, Bombay is its best market, and they would not have wanted to change it here! Well, I am gonna keep the radio tuned to 94.3, thats when 107.1 (The All India Radio channel) aint playing!
They incidentally play 8 hours of Western music per day! thats 1/3 of the day... other channels could very well learn something from them!
Good Luck, Radio one! Am rooting for yu guys!
Ciao,
Anya
