'Twas one of those days that are perfect for roaming around,,, the sun wasnt harsh, a light breeze was blowing, and the post-lunch walk never felt better...

But, work called and so had to spend the next 5 hours staring at the PC, swamped in sheets and pages and pages of data and mails...
Neways, left kinda early today, tat felt strange.... and then went to a friend's place, and then met up with some other friends, and we all went for dinner...
Had the bestest Veg Crispies, Manchaw Soup, Corn Paneer Milan, Veg Handi , Reshami Parathas and Pineapple Raitha...
No place for dessert, so we skipped it...

:-)

Bombay, sure is getting colder, not tat I am complaining...

Now, am too sleepy to type, so before I type something compromising, I better say Good Night :-) And sweet dreams...

Be good :-)

P.s.
It must have been love, but its over now, suits my mood for now :-)

I so wanna watch The Last Samurai & "Master & Commander..... "... but, as it happens, they've both gone from my nearby multiplex...
Lesson learnt, next time any English movie comes along tat I wanna watch, will catch it in the 1st week itself.... it doesnt stay beyond tat at this multiplex.... and its not too worth it to trudge all the way to a far-away place jus to catch a flick...

Nice Day! more or less...

The not no nice parts first:
???Work! now I know what I will do, but am sooooo wondering why I am gonna do it... Lol... neways, this is better than yesterday...and tomorrow's a Friday, cant be too worried on a Thursday night...

:-((( Has happened before and am sure tat it will happen again, but I have this crazy knack of losing a lot of friends to foes... and/or other external elements...
At such times, I dunno if to be mad at the friend or the foe.... sometimes I think tat friends who cant make up their own minds and form opinions based on wat others say are probably not capable of being a friend to anyone....
But then, not all think this way, so THE OTHERS who messup things for the rest are more to blame...
neways, hope things work out ya, strange things been happening all around....

The nice parts:
:-) A good friend's burday, called him up, felt good!!

@ good friend at work, treated a bunch of us for lunch, 'twas great fun... :-)

!!! Met some old pals around the place, an old school friend, 2 old office friends and bonded with another at work... Best of all, met my Best friend in the evening !!

Tomorrow, promises to be interesting for sure, work wise...
Otherwise, TGIF!!!

Guten Nacht!
Luv,
Anya

P.s,:
Crossing my fingers for something .... tell ya'll when it happens.... gotta move my lazy bum for it to happen though !!! :-)

Seekh le, Aankhon mein aankhen daal, seekh le...
Har pal mein jeena yaar soch le
Jeevan ke pal hain char, YAad rakh
Marna hai ek baar, Marna se pehle JEEENA, Seekh le....

I luuv this song, and it makes sense too.... hot fave on radio here, yu can listen to chorus on 1 channel, the 1st para on the 2nd and the 2nd on the 3rd... all in one go... just keep them fingers on the tuner :-)

Hmmm... Damn, didnt take the bus today either...was an interesting day... had a meeting, skipped lunch, ate Misal Pav, did some work, felt sleepy, felt bored, feel like sumthing's missing, and now, have got like mails that make me wanna pull my hair out...
On the brighter side, some friends like what I wrote... and I might finally get a life, if wat i do o'er the weekend materializes into something concrete...

On the not-so-brighter sode, For one of the rare times in my life, am gonna have to do work that I dont understand, not yet anyways...

Hoping for a better 2morrow...

But, will try and keep this one up ... so here goes...

A random post this:

Rickshaw...

That is usually how I start most days when I leave home in the mornings, thanks to my penchant for missing the company bus…
Almost every day, there is a new facet that I see. Completely inspired, here are some random jottings about the special brand of people in Bombay (Mumbai for the uninitiated)-The Rickshaw walla!

Let me start with
· The RJs: Rickshaw Jockeys, with the deck blaring, who were my gang’s favorites during our college days; nowadays the Chosen Ones are the ones that have a radio; and they are usually tuned in to frequencies 91 or the spicier 98.3. Rukh kyon gaye, Bajao…They are nice enough to tone down the volume when the passenger is speaking on the mobile. Nice!

· The honest one; this category is not as rare as one might think. One of these guys actually called me back and returned the wallet that I had dropped; another one; he was an old man, he had to fill petrol on the way, while he was in line, someone jumped the queue, and this fellow stood up for himself, his rights and ensured that the queue-breaker was sent back. Must say I felt ashamed for having given up very easily a good many times in life.

· Au contraire, you have the “Rip them off” kinds who will always round off every amount; notice the slight hesitation before the answer in response to you question of “How much?”. Best of all, carry the Tariff card along. Its fun picking up a fight with these kinds and giving them a piece of my mind.

· The educated “Thank you Madam” kinds, who are usually graduates; they are almost always, clean-shaven, reading a newspaper when waiting for fare, drive fast but never rashly and very courteous. They will always charge you the exact amount. They usually are the drivers for the school kids too.

· In contrast are the “Got off the wrong side of bed” types who are almost always, unshaven, ticked off at life, and decidedly rude. Anything & everything could make them explode; you sitting on the wrong side, you having change, you not having change, you being a collegian, you saying Bye to someone before getting in, you taking a second more to get off than he thinks you should take. I have half a mind to give one of these characters 20 Rupees in denominations of 25ps.

· The “baby/Sister/Aunty” category, who if they are unable to decide what to call you would call you Bhabhi ( Hindi for sis-in-law). Guys usually are Bhaisaab (Hindi for big brother).

· The tell-it-all types, who have been waiting all their life for you to lend them a ear; no matter how short the journey, you would know all about their kid’s school to their old job and the reason why some industrial estate shut down.

· The When I was young type who usually has a comment or two about the current generation and thinks that we are too easy-going, too frail and have a real easy life, but are not too happy. One of them expounded on how, in his times, they used to walk for miles to get water, make wheat flour at home, nothing readymade then, eat just home food and still be healthy. Can’t say that he was wrong!

· The Hinglish types: like once at a traffic signal, he saw this biker acting smart and he’s like “ Madam, yeh log ka naatak dekha? Single nahin dikha..” (Madam, these people act up, couldn’t they see the Single)… I didn’t get it the first time, then it dawned on me, He meant the Traffic Signal… (This sounds funnier when you say it aloud, I promise).

· The Gangly teenager who most certainly does not have a license, and will usually not take a fare beyond local suburban limits, he usually is shy and coy, with a sheepish smile to boot , and he always watches out for the traffic policeman.

· The Religious kinds, who have a mini prayer area at the front; if its morning, you will enter to some wonderful agarbatti (incense sticks) fragrance and they will always buy a little garland at the next single; ooops signal.

· The enterprising one, who does this as a part time job and is usually studying something or working somewhere else.

· The seedy one, who gives sidelong looks from the rear-view mirror and very roadside Romeo-ish, runs his hand through his hair when caught.

· The creep who makes studious conversation when its obvious that you don’t want to converse. All monologues there!

· The ‘Out of my way’ types who are under some illusion that life is a Grand Prix and they are Schumis on the fast track; Beware of them, no matter where you are, within or out of the car.

· The one who believes in the Tata Safari ad-line to “Make your own Road”. Like the one who, on a particularly bad traffic day, took off from a completely new route and I actually reached earlier than usual.

· Last but not the least is The Filmi freak with posters adorning the rickshaw right from the seat board to the back to the rear-view mirror sporting anything from a gaudy pair of Pink Lips to the lovely eyes of Aishwarya; from Sunny’s biceps to Shahrukhs’ lovey-dovey looks . Very common, this type.

One thing in common to almost all of them is that they usually have a filmi name for their rickshaw; varies from Kajol to Madhuri to Karisma, ladies only usually; very much like naming conventions for boats. Finally, just have to tell you this one incident. All said and done, they are the lifeline of Bombay and Thank God for them!
Enjoy the ride!

Good night!
Luv,
Anya

:::::realize that poetic justice prevails, more often that you would imagine
::::::actually be able 2 act normal when things are so the very opposite
:::::::not be able to jus pick up the phone & talk to someone1 yu miss so very much

Great weekend !!!
Was the Company BAsh on Saturday.... It RRRrrocked !!!!!! Woke up, with the hang over still there, Yesterday started off like one Manic Monday, when i reached work, there was a deluge of mails, all about the Bash, all of us congratulating one another(organizing team, i.e.) for having pulled off a much-appreciated, wonderful event inspite of pressing time-lines and stringent dead-lines...to top that, there was crazy work, all the numbers, all the work sheets, all the word docs blended into one another... till mercifully it became 12.30, but had to skip lunch as HAD TO finish what I had started....

All hopes of a working lunch were doomed as one thing lead to another, the clock ticked by and it became 4.00...it was kinda cool then; post 6.00, a friend threw us a party; all organizers of the bash; i.e.... Had Pizzas...

Then, helped a friend in shopping for some of his friends .... Quality-Shopping done, a pit-stop at Pizza Hut for yumm Garlic bread, Pasta and Coffee.. [ no ice-creams for me, coz my throat is going, going, gone... :-( ]...He was like reallly nice? by offering me tat yummm-looking ( is there any other kind?) Chocolate Ice-cream... 'twas a fun evening !! Then, reached home, did a lot of long-awaited sorting of corresspondence, and emptied my hand-bag of all the clutter...
Logged on to the net and the best part was caught JAsh online..after realllll Loooooong......Hey, loved talking to ya :-)

Anyways, hoping for a Terrific Tuesday !!!

Guten Nacht !

P.s. Maybe I'm addicted,
I'm out of control,

that keeps me from dying.
Maybe I'm a liar,
but all I really know is
you're the only reason I'm trying.

Had a GREAT time on the 31st.... well, almost... the day started off with me all charged up to go Partying in the evening... but then, there was a li'l something that niggled me, bothered me a hell lot, but since I cant really change it, decided to just 4get about it [ after a lot of bitching about it to my friends :-) ] and then me and the gang went to a disc. called VELOCITY at Tardeo, food on the house, drinks on the house, great music....

We met up with some other friends there, had a GREAT time, shook a leg or two, danced the night away ... reached home the next day at 7.00 :-)
