3 movies/books that always confuse me; they all have such similiar-sounding names :

If tomorrow comes
(It will ) Die another day
(But ) Tomorrow never dies

Put them in sequence, add some extras, and they actually make some sense... lol...

The Paradoxical Commandments
by Dr. Kent M. Keith

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

Unbelievable !!!

Cheers,
Anya

Some weird facts - I
Oral-B®

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oral-B is a combination of oral hygiene and the letter B, which stands for the word better.

The nylon-bristle toothbrush is a descendant of the "chew stick," a twig with a frayed end of soft fibers that was rubbed against the teeth to clean them. Chew sticks have been found in Egyptian tombs dating to 3000 B.C

The first bristled toothbrush, made from bristles plucked from the backs of hog¹s necks and fastened to bamboo or bone handles, originated in China in 1498.

Traders from the Orient introduced Europeans to the practice of brushing their teeth, and the few Europeans who adopted the practice opted for horsehair toothbrushes, though most preferred the Roman toothpick.

After Du Pont chemists discovered nylon in the 1930s, the company marketed the first nylon-bristle toothbrush in 1938.

In the 1940s, periodontist Robert Hutson invented Oral-B Toothbrushes, the first multitufted, soft-nylon bristle toothbrushes. In 1984, Gillette acquired Oral-B, enabling Oral-B to make its toothbrushes available in virtually every country in the world.

According to the American Dental Association, 80 percent of all Americans fail to replace their toothbrush until after the bent bristles are no longer fit for cleaning teeth.

Oral-B Toothbrushes incorporate the features recommended by dental professionals: a long narrow neck designed for more effective brushing of back teeth; a thumb grip for better maneuverability; a rounded head for greater comfort; and polished, end-rounded bristles to help protect gums and tooth enamel.

Oral-B Indicator bristles fade as the brush wears out.

Oral-B is the world¹s leading producer of dental care products.

Oral-B Toothbrushes are used by more dentists and hygienists worldwide than any other toothbrushes.

Happy Brushing :-)

A Book is yur best friend

Am reading 'Little Women' currently, the master classic by Louisa May Alcott, sucha wonderful book, 'twas a present by mommie and daddie to me and my sis when I was in the VII std.; it was a fat, blue book [ it still has the gift-tag on it , with the cellophane all brown ], A collection of Little Women, Sindbad's adventures, Robinson Crusoe and Alice in Wonderland ... many a delightful afternoon spent turning the pages of that fat book, with a mango, season permititng or some Coconut-barfi or some pakodas to munhc on. Me loved reading reclining on my fave sofa; the book was bigger than me :-), and I had to do a good deal of book-handling :-) to ensure it doesen't fall, till the time I found the perfect place for it; in the crook of my arms :-)

My sister finished reading them all realllll soon :-); When I finished too, another forever-bond was created between us :-)...
Since then, we have had endless discussions about the characters, their characteristics, who we most closely resemble, who we identify with, who we would like to identify with ; we both wanted to be like Jo, and we both have some of her traits; passion for reading being one of them , she would call me Amy coz I am the youngest and so is Amy, at times I felt like Beth; calm, meek, quiet, I used to call her Meg, coz she was the eldest and so was Meg... One thing we agreed on; our Mommie was like Marmee in the book :-)...the best evah !!!

A must-read this one...

JLT

Bend it like Becks, saw it 2wice o'er the weekend :-)...the 5th time I saw it in toto; also caught 'Chalte Chalte'; wish had gone somewhere else 'Chalte Chalte'...
It is 1 Saaaaaaaaad Movie...SRK looks mal-nourished, with sunken cheekbones and his waist was lesser than Rani's ; illogical story line, a lot of ham-acting, weird side-kicks, a lot of Hinglish, pathetic songs except for the main one, length stretched like chewing gum eons old, about the only +point was gorgeous Rani, who looked great, wore great stuff but looked totally out of place in the movie, like all the others...
We drove the others in the hall crazy with our non-stop commentary, Shastri would be proud of us :-)

Summer XS

Yesterday was Summer XS at the National Bowl, turned out to be a super-success, going by the reviews from people; it had all the stars; Daniel Bedingfield, Blazin' Squad, Atomic Kitten, Simply Red, Busted, Sugababes, Appleton, Abs, The Cheeky Girls DJ Sammy, Mis-teeq, Kym Marsh, Big Brovaz, David Sneddon, Lisa Scott-Lee, Triple 8 and Billy Crawford... all churning out their hits... The show started at 2.00, ended at 6.30-ish, people back home by 8.00-ish, keeping in mind post-event traffic.

Wish I had been there, done that !!! Me had to make do with my own Summer-XS by listening to all the hits on the radio, post the event... :-)

A question of sport...

Came across this headline
Woodward fires World Cup warning

ITV - 1 hour ago
England boss Clive Woodward has warned his Grand Slam-winning team that their hopes of winning the World Cup this autumn are on the line against New Zealand in Wellington.

Just 1 quick ?
Is the sport in question 'Tennis' or 'Cricket'...turns out it is neither :-)...it is in fact 'Rugby'... Lol...which I realized only after I googled on Mr. Woodward's name; the entire article had no mention of the sport invloved... :-)...happens ever so often this :-)

IT IS IRONIC...

An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
IT IS IRONIC... don't you think

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures

Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
Well, isn't this nice
And IT IS IRONIC... ... don't you think?

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures

Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's oka and everythings going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think evertyhing's gone wrong and everthing blows up
In your face

A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And IT IS IRONIC... ... don't you think
A little too ironic.. and yeah I really do think...

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures

Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
And life has a funny way of helping you out

Helping you out ??? Strange but true...

Contemplative Me...

:-)
And the moon is up, and the stars are bright
And whatever comes gonna be alright
Coz tonight, yu will be mine
Up on Cloud number 9

P.S. Love the phrase breathtaking-beauty, whoever coined it must have seen the view from my window :-)...when it is dark, pouring and windy... :-)

Parent-Trap

Strictly in jest - :-)))

Here are excerpts from a recent conversation between me and my roomies. Topic in question being that, our parents have made so many 'n' number of sacrifices for us, they have taken such pains to bring us up, and look what we turned out as :-) loL ... we were wondering if we would turn out to be even a shadow of what they are, and after all that we do, if they; meaning the kids turn out to be strange creatures, or even worse like us, :-), that wouldn't be a very nice thing...

Here's a random list of things that parents do; rather did till some years back, dunno about the new ones :-)

1. Teach them; them meaning their children... :-) now that would mean drilling all them tables, grammar, poems, proses, maths, sciences in their little head...
2. Bring them up to be good citizens of the world; or is it nation; well, either which way, yu got the point...
3. Keep a good balance between tolerance and pressure; how??? No clue, yu tell me....
4. Be a friend at times, a parent at others, please tell me what time is it...to behave like which ...
5. Keep a track of what's happening in their lives, any good company, any bad company, any company at all???
6. Try and steer them in the direction that will be best-suited to them, keeping in mind what they want, now what if he/she wants to be a gambler? What do yu do? Book them a non-return to Vegas???
7. Cook for them, Now this is difficult, more so for them than for me, to eat what I make is fine with me, well, will just have to make them EAT :-)
8. Censor TV, Video, Books, Internet, CDs, VCDs, Cassettes, jeez...the list is endless...and go chop chop...
9. Teach them manners, how to behave, what to say when, more importantly what not to say :-)
10. Just Let them be, Let them be themselves...Tough One...

Now, this is a 24/7 thing, for at least 21 years, or more...which translates to 183960 hours, it is TRUE, used the Calci ... that is not counting any leap-years and any worldly changes that would mean more hours in a day...
Just 1 question, why would you even want to be a parent? :-)

Cheers,
Anya

P.>S They all say Not to worry, yu learn how... :-)....for the sake of some kids, I sure hope so :-)))

In My head
Thanxzzz to whoever was humming it...

When you want it the most there's no easy way out
When you're ready to go and your heart's left in doubt
Don't give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that's the way it is ...

Odd, very Odd !!!
1. People who are rude without a reason
2. People who are cruel with words
3. People who put me down
4. People who are envious and take out their complexes on me
5. People who throw their weight around

Just 1 message -
All the shit you throw at me comes back at you, coz it doesen't make an iota of a difference to me...GET A LIFE !!!

Have a nice day...
Cheers,
Anya
