Its a SIGN
I think its about time that I confess my undying love to him...he is cute, smart, intelligent, adorable, well, basically all the positives from A to Zee...its been a crazy number of years to go on without doing anything about it...
Have always wondered how 2 people know that they are exactly right for each other, I thought I knew, I thought he knew too, but then; the thing is when we want something ; someone in my case :-)...we tend to read a lot between words, find hidden meanings in every sentence, interpret a look as one filled with all the Love in the world...Bottom-line being tat I still don't KNOW KNOW !!!

My fate was sealed the day i saw 'Sleepless in Seattle'; where Meg Ryan goes about interpreting everything as 'A SIGN'...well, the signs have been innumerable, well not really; but, yeah, more or less........

So, now I think I am gonna blurt it out...then atleast I can move on; one way or the other :-)

Cheers,
Anya

"Love Will Keep Us Alive"

I was standing
All alone against the world outside
You were searching
For a place to hide

Lost and lonely
Now you've given me the will to survive
When we're hungry...love will keep us alive

Don't you worry
Sometimes you've just gotta let it ride
The world is changing
Right before your eyes
Now I've found you
There's no more emptiness inside
When we're hungry...love will keep us alive

I would die for you
Climb the highest mountain
Baby, there's nothing I wouldn't do

I was standing
All alone against the worlk outside
You were searching
For a place to hide
Lost and lonely
Now you've given me the will to survive
When we're hungry...love will keep us alive
When we're hungry...love will keep us alive
When we're hungry...love will keep us alive

Cheers...

Whatta Waist ;-)
Well, loved the title; Now I realize I have absolutely nothing to write about it,so this will be one of those writings in the history of writing, where the title and the body of the write-up have nothing in common, save the language, hopefully ;-), which in my case, holds true...
Anyways, please ignore me and my ramblings coz I have no idea what I am typing, my fingers have taken over, they seem to have a mind of their own, "STop,, Stop," I tell them, they don't pay any heed...
Well, I think the rumblings emanating from my tummie, have taken over my rambling thoughts, am off to lunch...after which, if today is your lucky day, my fingers will take over once again ;-)... lol

Cheers,
Anya

P.S> Grandiose plans of Idlis for this weekend... Lol...I see myself awaking at 12.30, I certainly don't see the lazeee ME, making any steam-hot Idlis... ;-), well, if wishes were horses, then would horses be wishes too ? ;-) I leave yu with that food for thought ;-)
BTW 1 The above horsy-wishy funda is termed as SOMETHING in those Logical tests which have those 'All roses are flowers', 'All flowers are not roses' 'All flowers are roses' kind-of questions...Know what they are called?
BTW 2 My. P.S. is more than the actual text in this post...
BTW 3 Just realized on viewing my page, that its not ;-)

Hair yesterday, gone today ;-)
Its been a lazy week, as yet, about the only highlight being my new hair cut ; which does look pretty good, according to all who have seen the 'New and Improved? ' ME ;-)

Weekend Movie mania

Friday -
Darkness falls - a supposed horror? flick

Saturday - was rest-day with grocery shopping; I played with my neighbour's kids, Victoria and David ;-)...Who said we Indians are the only movie-star maniacs...with sons and daughters who sign off as Sachu and Ash respectively.

Sunday - A lazy day, spent cleaning the coriander, whipping up some lunch, listening to endless replays of "Saathiya- 'Suniyo re' " in particular, and 2 movies The Little POlar BEar ; a cute, animated flick and Blue-Crush - a Fantastic, fast, movie, with no big stars, Damn neat movie !!!

Monday - Splash starring Tom Hanks,as my wake-up call and then a stumptuous lunch of 'Puris, alu-sabji,coriander chatni and Aamras', courtesy my roomies; Jamie and Mizundastood ;-) followed by My Fair Lady , Saathiya on video at night; not to forget my Favourite movie... DCH

I looooove the movies ;-)
Was a movie freak anyways, gotta thank easycinema.com for fuelling my passion for the movies...they are into low-cost movie theatres, wherein they've done away with all the frills associated with a modern-day multiplex, no 'Rip-off popcorn', just the movie experience...the opening offer for the opening week was all movies at £0.20 pence only...
Now, its from £0.20 pence onwards...

Sounds simple ... well, it is, like most GR8 ideas ;-)

Happy viewing,
Anya

P.s. Its a good 22 degrees outside, summer's here ;-)

A list of Playlist files...Whyy !!! God WHy !!!
:-)

And, then you have endless lists of Movie titles.... :-) OMG, Why!!!

Cheers,
Anya

Wish my neighbours were fishes ...

Ms. Dee decided to make us do the Back-Stroke, now, I fall into the category of folks who CANNOT do a back-float, leave alone a back-stroke, its a totally different matter that I can do the FreeStyle albeit I can't do a Front-float... ;-)...But, I am drifiting here ; hey shouldn't I be floating? ;-)))...neways, initially Ms. Dee was helping us start; with our head on her shoulder, and she helping us start off; when it came to me, she literally dragged across the pool, with my head on her shoulders, me doing some rapid kicking on and off ;-)
Seriously, I can't do the back-stroke, not as yet anyways... Gotta learn it before Dragon-Lady ( refer Post dated, 22/05/03 - All in a day's swim ) ... decides to take it in her head to TEACH ME the back-stroke; That will be THE DAY ... D-DAY, should I say ;-)...
Love the free-style; that's when I can DO something other than Walk across / be dragged across/ attempts at float-stand-float-stand; all in short-bursts
;-)...

The other day, my friend, lets call her Ms. J,her head was in the water, bubbles all around;we thought she was practising her breathing techniques, well she wasn't ;-); she was trying to do... ; well, dunno what !!! ; we had a great laugh over it, coz it was like, Now yu see her, Now yu don't ...So, next time onwards, we have decided to tell the other person, when we decide to practise something ;-)....

Neways, cyu later...

Cheers,
Anya

Listening to : Tumse milke aisa laga - Parinda...Loooooove That song... one of the songs that has a very short Interlude, almost as if, he can't start singing to her ;-)

All in a day's swim
Picture this -
4 enthusiastic, ready-to-jump-into-the-water-right-away gals arrive at the 'Swimming classes for Improvers', stars in their eyes, well swimming-goggles actually ;-)...

There is this area between the changing rooms and the pool, where due to some reason, water had accumulated, me, with those stars and goggs over my eyes, stepped right into the water, and it wasn't even the pool, I look across, and what do I see ! On the other bank, was this dragon-lady, who looked very disapprovingly at me and said 'Silly girl, there is water over there'... Hmmm, interesting start to the class, well, can't remember the last time someone called me 'Silly girl' ;-)
Neways, we entered the pool, and she wanted to know if we could swim entire lengths of the pool, well, we do think that we can, so off we went, splashing more water than was ever thought humanly possible, and we waited for her to say a sing-songy 'Well Done' like our previous swimming instructor. All she said was ' I think that you should join the 'Beginner's classes' on Monday till you get the technique perfected'...
Talk about a dampener, and literally at that; she dangled carrots at us, saying that the class on Monday is a 'Moonlight serenade'...meaning swimming in candle-light, with music... ;-)))...Well, she did say that the class on Monday is a bit crowded...That was the end of my our tenure in the Swimming classes for Improvers ;-)))

Neways, come the next week, and we went for class on Monday, it was hilarious to say the least... A BIT Crowded turned out to be more like Terabytes ; there are people lined from 1 end of the pool to the other, breadth-wise, like victims lined up for identification...
And, BTW, Dragon-lady is actually not the instructor, her daughter is, who BTW was in the pool with us...Lets call her Ms. Dee...
Dragon-lady considers it her sole motive for that 1 hour to focus completely and, I mean COMPLETELY on Me, anything I do, rather not do, is immediately noticed, to illustrate, Ms. Dee told us to stand by the sides, and practise our breathing, by putting our face in the water, and breathe out, and then after sometime, come out and breathe in...And so on and so forth...
Ok, so I wasn’t breathing out, I was in fact holding my breath; she knows that coz she cannot see any bubbles near my head, nor can she see my head, coz its IN the Water,,, so when I come out for breathing in, she comes and stands right over my head, and like I can’t see her, or like I don't know she's speaking to me, she points at me, I am bracing myself for wats coming...
'YOU...YOU... are not breathing 'out' she says, ya rite tell me something new... I am thinking...well, not aloud...
;-)))

Well, next time, I don't know what's in store for us...
But, swimming sure is fun ;-)

Cheers,
Anya

P.S. love this phrase Wear your heart on your sleeve ;-))), don't you?

Isn't it ironic?

My Inspiration behind this post : The crazy, and I do mean CRAZYYY number of forwards that people keep forwarding...in all sizes, fonts, shapes and formats.

The classic example of the forward on 'The 50 things that people should be doing' ; excerpts from which are -
1.Watch the sunset together.
2. Whisper to each other.
3. Cook for each other.
4.Walk in the rain.
5. Hold hands.
6. Buy gifts for each other............etc, etc, etc
Click for entire 4ward

Now, its a really good forward, we all know that, but pray, tell me what's the big idea behind sending me the same thing in the form of :- [ Brace yourselves :-) ]

A mail message -
(1) In Plain text
(2) In HTML - bright background ( Did someone say Govinda? ), brighter colours, not a very bright idea though
(3) With an attachment ; now that could be in various forms as well, to illustrate :

(3- A) A word document : This again could be either
(i) - A word document with unformatted data
(ii) - A word document with data in multi-colours, all formatting attributes of Word used to the maximum, bold, italics, font- sizes, fonts, you name it, they have it, Courier, Comic Mc Sans, Times New Roman, nah, TImes is old news, I like antiques, so yu have Book Antiqua...

(3-B) A Microsoft Power Point presentation : Now, that comes in various design templates, if yu are really lucky?, and refer (3-A-ii) for the other attributes

(3-C) Saved the best for last, an Excel sheet, at the end of which you have this standard formula that would expect you to write anything really, your name, your dog's name, your cat's skin colour, and tell you to hit the ENTER key,at the end of which a message always, invariably, in RED, BOLD and a humungous font-size would tell you to
'Get back to your work, and not waste the resources of the company'...Well, isn't it ironic?

Song of the day : Refer Title / last line above - Alanis Morisette
What ??? : is the matter with people???? somebody tell me please...That reminds me of the lyrics of the theme song of 'Full House', remember the gorgeous Jesse; FullHouseLyrics

Anya

This happens only in the Queen's country
05:15 - Sunrise
06:30 - Clear blue skies, Bright and sunny, seems like it is 08:00, by Bombay standards
11:00 - Overcast, cloudy, light breeze
13:00 - Light drizzle, turning to a slightly heavy rain
15:30 - Sudden darkness, thunder, lightning, hail-storm and rain
15:40 - Nothing, just dark clouds...
15: 45- Hail-storm, rain, gusts of wind
15:49 - Nothing, sun peeping from behind the clouds that are looking blue again

God's in his heaven, all's right with the world...

Cheers,
Anya

Karaoke to Roberta Flack's ' Killing me softly'
Why? Coz I am listening to it right now
Why? Coz Winamp picked it up as the next song after 'Yu make me wanna' by Blue...
Karaoke to 'You fill up my senses' by John Denver....
Why? refer above ;-)

Some people observations :
1. Type A with a studious look, an intelligent frown, forehead even more creased than my favourite trousers ( and that's saying something), furiously biting the nails [ finger-nails ;-) ] - That is someone who knows Zilch, but has an answer for everything, in a loud, booming voice...mind yu...
2. Type B forever flustered, forever acts like the world revolves around her/him, forever talks about how he/she did this/that, and how well he/she did it, and how great he/she is to have done this/that; know what? The this/that usually is the same thing always - That is someone who has done just one thing, and hasn't been able to get over that, and won't let yu get over it either...
3. Type C the yes-person, who will be your friend as well a friend of all the others in the world, at the same time that he/she bitches about you and the others; with no reference to Nicole's movie, - That is almost funny, especially if you and 1 or more than 1 of the Others bitch about sucha type...

More later, lunch calling...

Anya

Why, God Why !
This was what Joey said when he turned 30, not tat I am turning 30 too, this is what I said yesterday evening when I realized that 2day would be Monday, and the end of the weekend...which just races away like Carl Lewis...
As for what I did and didn't do, well; read 'Second form, in the Third & Upper Fourth at Malory Towers'- by Enid Blyton, watched a lot of T.V, Joan d'Arc, some movie called Feds, Mr. Holland's Opus, and the house-favourite serial, Mile High...started the weekend with 'Toast Butter' ended it with 'Strawberries & Cream'...Yummm...
&, we mowed our backyard ka lawn...washed many clothes, cleaned up the fridge, found that we had tomatoes in all possible forms, shapes, containers, we have family packs, vying for attention with tins of soup, opened and unopened, we have ketchup in bottles, some almost-over, some not; our fridge looks like a storage box for the Mildly acid red or yellow pulpy fruit eaten as a vegetable ; ...so says WordWeb...

1QuickQuestion : Why isn't every weekend a Looooong weekend???

Cheers,
Anya

When to say 'FO' and get away with it ;-)
Am sure yu've come across this sometime or the other in your lives-
Yu talking to someone, halfway through the conversation, rather the monlogue (on your part) interspersed with the occasional trying-to-sound-interested-hmmm-hmmms from the other person, the person looks away, almost goes into a trance-like state, thinking about something else...at such a time, you can get away with giving a few gaaliyaan ( Hindi for verbal abuse) to the person...
Was tempted to do that recently, but then, just about managed to contain myself ;-)))

Talk about hearing vs. listening, is this worse?; the person not even looking at yu, not even trying to look interested ... Lol...such things get to me, but in all honesty, it is pretty hilarious, wish I could do a R.K.Laxman of them ; eyes trying to focus on yu, the intelligent frown on the face, a hmmm, even when you've said nothing, Lol, even a pregnant pause on your side can prompt a hmmm from such people...

It takes all sorts, now, doesen't it?

Cheers,
Anya

Remember the scene in 'French Kiss', where Meg Ryan gorges on all the possible cheeses in the train, and then has an adverse reaction, to say the least; methinx tat she was Lactose-intolerant......am playing her role today, started off with a Yummy, [ not so yummy now ;-) ] Garlic-cheese baguette, then a cheese sandwich...tat was breakfast, Lunch was a potion of cheese...
I loooove cheese, grated is even better...but I think I have overdosed on it, given the sedentary lifestyle I lead, tat aint' sucha gooood idea, babes ;-)
