Parent-Trap
Strictly in jest - :-)))
Here are excerpts from a recent conversation between me and my roomies. Topic in question being that, our parents have made so many 'n' number of sacrifices for us, they have taken such pains to bring us up, and look what we turned out as :-) loL ... we were wondering if we would turn out to be even a shadow of what they are, and after all that we do, if they; meaning the kids turn out to be strange creatures, or even worse like us, :-), that wouldn't be a very nice thing...
Here's a random list of things that parents do; rather did till some years back, dunno about the new ones :-)
1. Teach them; them meaning their children... :-) now that would mean drilling all them tables, grammar, poems, proses, maths, sciences in their little head...
2. Bring them up to be good citizens of the world; or is it nation; well, either which way, yu got the point...
3. Keep a good balance between tolerance and pressure; how??? No clue, yu tell me....
4. Be a friend at times, a parent at others, please tell me what time is it...to behave like which ...
5. Keep a track of what's happening in their lives, any good company, any bad company, any company at all???
6. Try and steer them in the direction that will be best-suited to them, keeping in mind what they want, now what if he/she wants to be a gambler? What do yu do? Book them a non-return to Vegas???
7. Cook for them, Now this is difficult, more so for them than for me, to eat what I make is fine with me, well, will just have to make them EAT :-)
8. Censor TV, Video, Books, Internet, CDs, VCDs, Cassettes, jeez...the list is endless...and go chop chop...
9. Teach them manners, how to behave, what to say when, more importantly what not to say :-)
10. Just Let them be, Let them be themselves...Tough One...
Now, this is a 24/7 thing, for at least 21 years, or more...which translates to 183960 hours, it is TRUE, used the Calci ... that is not counting any leap-years and any worldly changes that would mean more hours in a day...
Just 1 question, why would you even want to be a parent? :-)
Cheers,
Anya
P.>S They all say Not to worry, yu learn how... :-)....for the sake of some kids, I sure hope so :-)))
