A Book is yur best friend
Am reading 'Little Women' currently, the master classic by Louisa May Alcott, sucha wonderful book, 'twas a present by mommie and daddie to me and my sis when I was in the VII std.; it was a fat, blue book [ it still has the gift-tag on it , with the cellophane all brown ], A collection of Little Women, Sindbad's adventures, Robinson Crusoe and Alice in Wonderland ... many a delightful afternoon spent turning the pages of that fat book, with a mango, season permititng or some Coconut-barfi or some pakodas to munhc on. Me loved reading reclining on my fave sofa; the book was bigger than me :-), and I had to do a good deal of book-handling :-) to ensure it doesen't fall, till the time I found the perfect place for it; in the crook of my arms :-)
My sister finished reading them all realllll soon :-); When I finished too, another forever-bond was created between us :-)...
Since then, we have had endless discussions about the characters, their characteristics, who we most closely resemble, who we identify with, who we would like to identify with ; we both wanted to be like Jo, and we both have some of her traits; passion for reading being one of them , she would call me Amy coz I am the youngest and so is Amy, at times I felt like Beth; calm, meek, quiet, I used to call her Meg, coz she was the eldest and so was Meg... One thing we agreed on; our Mommie was like Marmee in the book :-)...the best evah !!!
A must-read this one...
Cheers,
Anya
