All in a day's swim
Picture this -
4 enthusiastic, ready-to-jump-into-the-water-right-away gals arrive at the 'Swimming classes for Improvers', stars in their eyes, well swimming-goggles actually ;-)...

There is this area between the changing rooms and the pool, where due to some reason, water had accumulated, me, with those stars and goggs over my eyes, stepped right into the water, and it wasn't even the pool, I look across, and what do I see ! On the other bank, was this dragon-lady, who looked very disapprovingly at me and said 'Silly girl, there is water over there'... Hmmm, interesting start to the class, well, can't remember the last time someone called me 'Silly girl' ;-)
Neways, we entered the pool, and she wanted to know if we could swim entire lengths of the pool, well, we do think that we can, so off we went, splashing more water than was ever thought humanly possible, and we waited for her to say a sing-songy 'Well Done' like our previous swimming instructor. All she said was ' I think that you should join the 'Beginner's classes' on Monday till you get the technique perfected'...
Talk about a dampener, and literally at that; she dangled carrots at us, saying that the class on Monday is a 'Moonlight serenade'...meaning swimming in candle-light, with music... ;-)))...Well, she did say that the class on Monday is a bit crowded...That was the end of my our tenure in the Swimming classes for Improvers ;-)))

Neways, come the next week, and we went for class on Monday, it was hilarious to say the least... A BIT Crowded turned out to be more like Terabytes ; there are people lined from 1 end of the pool to the other, breadth-wise, like victims lined up for identification...
And, BTW, Dragon-lady is actually not the instructor, her daughter is, who BTW was in the pool with us...Lets call her Ms. Dee...
Dragon-lady considers it her sole motive for that 1 hour to focus completely and, I mean COMPLETELY on Me, anything I do, rather not do, is immediately noticed, to illustrate, Ms. Dee told us to stand by the sides, and practise our breathing, by putting our face in the water, and breathe out, and then after sometime, come out and breathe in...And so on and so forth...
Ok, so I wasn’t breathing out, I was in fact holding my breath; she knows that coz she cannot see any bubbles near my head, nor can she see my head, coz its IN the Water,,, so when I come out for breathing in, she comes and stands right over my head, and like I can’t see her, or like I don't know she's speaking to me, she points at me, I am bracing myself for wats coming...
'YOU...YOU... are not breathing 'out' she says, ya rite tell me something new... I am thinking...well, not aloud...
;-)))

Well, next time, I don't know what's in store for us...
But, swimming sure is fun ;-)

Cheers,
Anya

P.S. love this phrase Wear your heart on your sleeve ;-))), don't you?
