I Can See Clearly Now
So goes the song by Johnny Nash...here is the 1st stanza...

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

At first glance, didn't get the 1st two lines, now I get it, the fact that you can see obstacles in your way probably seems like a negative thing, but the fact that you can finally see them clearly, the fact that you have a clear view of the problems in front of you is the whole point...
Neat or what !!!

Cheers,
Anya

Talk, it makes all the difference...
A couple of two incidents since yesterday have only furthered my belief in the power of Communication ...seemingly difficult situations can be resolved in a jiffy, only if the people concerned communicate...Now, there are certainly many exceptions, but they are either due to the lack of effort on our part or that those incidents don't matter much to us...
It ain't easy but Make an effort, it is worth it...and so R Yu !!!

Cheers,
Anya

A place where Magic Lives ... even today

Caught Jungle Book - II on Saturday, it was one happy place, a riot of colour, Disneyland is another ... full of smiling, laughing , happy faces ... ok,ok... I know I used the word 'happy' already...anyways, this 1 incident distinctly stood out...
Picture this-
A teeny tot, not more than 4, with her mom on a ride in FantasyLand - Dumbo-the Flying Elephant ...the kid was in tears, bawling her heart out, mommie was wiping her tears away...the kid; she probably hurt herself, or was scared of the ride, or was just being a kid ;-)...But then the ride started...and, she used the levers to make Dumbo fly ... in just that 1 moment, her tears miraculously disappeared, in place was a Close-up smile, a light in her eyes, excitement that cannot be defined...
2minutes later, ride over, back in her mommie's arms, Ms. Teeny-Tiny-Tot was looking forward once again to a magical day at DisneyLand...

It truly is a magical place...

Cheers,
Anya

Gaana-Waana - 'Bear Neccessities - Jungle Book II'
Waiting for Yu ;-)...YuKnoWhoUr ;-)...atleast I hope so ... Lol

Yu fill up my senses
Like a night in the forest
like the mountains in spring-time
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean...
Yu fill up my senses, come fill me again...

Cheers,
Anya

Its a Wonderful Life

After a wonderful weekend, all 3 days of which I spent with the same gang, ;-), remember, I am moving in with u folks, and no Tent will do ;-) - eating Pasta, watching Disney's Jungle Book, having crazy discussions of 'What is Love, kya hai Pyaar? ' ;-))), eating Pav Bhaji, strumming the guitar ... having a wonderful barbecue in the lawn, singing 'Yeh raat, yeh chandni, phir kahan' ;-), watching 'Yu make me wanna-Blue' endless number of times, on special request by Ashwin, being christened twice over, sleeping at 5.00 in the morning, both days, hmmm, me sure had a great time...
As for today, its a rainy day...the leaves look cleanly washed, the roads have puddles of H2O, its a wonderful day to walk around...
Today is -

A day to smile
Albeit no sun
To walk a mile
A day to run
A day to fall in love...
or not ;-)

Cheers,
Anya

Chai-Kaapi

Just back from my coffee-break, ... which reminds me of the long-distance train journeys in India, which are 1 big picnic in themselves...apart from all the fun that you have, it is a great place to indulge in study of people not to mention a complete multi-cultural experience...The 'Theplas' (a kind-of masala chapati, made of gram flour ) from the Guju family, the Thair-Chadam & Elmachengai Oorgai ( Curd Rice and Lime Pickle), or the Pulin-Chadam ( Tamarind Rice) from your Tam-Bram. neighbour, the 'Aai, mala bhook lagli aahe, Chakli de na ' (Mom, I am hungry, gimme some snacks) from the Maharashtrian kid, and the best contrast that nature has on offer is on the journey from B'bay to Kerala, via Andhra, those were the days when Konkan Rail was still a concept on paper, so it would be a 48-hour journey, and the 2nd afternoon, would be hot, arid, dusty, lands of AP as the scenery, and by early morning, the next day, we would cross into Kerala, one would wake up to the green, lush, coconutty, lands of Kerala, and cries of 'Chai-Kappi' (Tea-Coffee)from the small kids selling tea/coffee...
Welcome to God's own Country !!!

HEAVEN ON EARTH

hMMM, I wrote suchalot Friday evening, posted it, didn't publish it, and now it can't be seen anywhere... ;-(((..neways, what I had written was more or less what follows-

Life was one big Party during the summer vacations from mid-April to mid-June, 2 whole months of bliss, our schedule those days didn't vary much, apart from trips outside of B'bay, but when in B'bay, our routine went something like this-
Wake up at 5:45, brush teeth and hair, not with the same brush ;-), gather the whole gang in the colony, which was as varied as they come, all shapes and sizes, all ages and all colours, not any advert. for Benetton, but certainly multi-facted, multi-lingual, multi-cultural, we were an advert for national harmony in ourselves, we would then trek up to the mountains behind our colony, which were known as '1st Pahadi, 2nd Pahadi, 3rd Pahadi and the Biggie, 4th Pahadi'--- 'Pahadi' is Mountain in Hindi.
We would troop upwards, the little band of trekkers, and feel an increased sense of achievement after each level, the 2nd Pahadi was this flat land - AKA Inner Ville park, with many couples-old, young, school-going, working, groups of people, the largest variety of dogs this side of the Indian Ocean, all jogging, sitting, relaxing...
Then, on to the 3rd, which was like the 1st summit for us, the 4th pahadi was not a regualar thing, usually it was a Sunday event, all aunties & uncles included as well ... ;-)...
Back from the treks, we would be dirty, soiled, grimy, muddy, grubby kids with the kind-of-lights-up-ur-eyes-smile, fully refreshed, charged and raring to go...We would clean ourselves up, by which i mean, take a bath, and then after tucking in a good breakfast, we would run down to play gali-badmintion, the kind, where if the shuttle falls on ur side of the court, you r out ;-)))...
Then, come noon, it was exclusively devoted to Giant Robot, He-man, The Grimm brothers, - Doordarshan had this wonderful slot in the summer hols. from 12-2, aptly called 'Fun-Time'...we would mostly crash in one of the gang's place, all of us...Tat done, back to our homes, for Lunch, and tat being the season of the King of Fruits, time 2 settle down to a Big-Juicy Mango post-lunch, - like they say, The proof the eating is in the mango-stained Tee;-)...Then, settle down to some reading - remember my sis and I hoarding the local library- KK library....
Post-reading, it was time for some yummyyyy evening snacks, dosas, vadas, pakodas, bread-rolls, u name it ;-)))
5.00-ish, the much-awaited cries of 'Anita, neeche aa, aunty, usko bolo jaldi aane ko' would be heard, would dash down, and we would play an assortment of games- Langdi party, poison-medicine, saakli, hide&seek, dabba-i-spice, land& water, pakda-pakdi, Throw-ball, Is the lamb at home today, Kho-Kho, Monkey in the Middle, doctor-doctor, Lock&Key, colour-colour....and galli-baseball with the big colourful kiddie balls with alphabets on them
;-)))
Then,. 9-ish, home for dinner, after which time 2 guzzle the big glass of Mango-Milkshake, and then later, galli-badmintion again, with aunties/uncles....and my gang...
Hmm, sleep arnd 12-30-ish, and enjoy the best sleep ever, with the lightsummer breeeze coming in from the windows...
Did someone say there is no heaven on earth !!!

Now, tat I have started, I can't seem to stop...just had lunch, Tomato rice and Pickle, which is something we finish off in less than a week, in our family, as we call ourselves...hey, tat reminds me, yesterday, was reading the weekly forecasts in 'The Metro', when it occured to me tat this group of friends/colleagues/batch-mates with whom I share our home have exactly the same star signs as the rest of my basic family, now tat's what I call a nice-little coincidence...
Anyways, I think I should get back to doing some work, Listening to 'Blue-yu make me wanna' right now, one nice song tat !!!

Cheers,

Morning/Noon/Night folks....

A New-Month's resolution to try and update my blog ever-so-often.... so there !!! ;-)
Its a bright, bright , sunshiny day, birds chattering away to glory, people not wearing any winter-keeping u hot-when its warm-jackets, poeple on the streets, in numbers that go beyond single-figures, now tat's a first...
Spring is announcing her arrival in all ways humanly, oops, NATUR(e)ALLY possible, she causes all kinds of flowers, wild and not, in myriads of colours, lavender, purple, yellow, blue, lilac, red, to SPRING up from all possible nooks and corners all over the place, etween subways, across street-corners, between concrete blocks on the road, from wild bushes which is where from 'BEauty and the BEast' must have got its inspiration, methinks ;-)...kids SPRINGing up all of a sudden in gardens, playgrounds, empty spaces, in all shapes and sizes, no winter-keeping u hot-when its warm-jackets dwarfing them, looking and feeling light-hearted and full of
cheer...Now I know why she is called SPRING, coz flowers and kids alike, SPRING up from nowhere, its like a ghost-town got converted to a Happy place overnight, yeah, SPRING certainly puts a Spring in my steps... ;-)
